Rule number 1 about STL Fight Club... Don't talk about fight club, talk shit AT fight club.

Anyway, the premise is simple. We'll pick a day of the week that works best for everyone involved, and have everyone meet at someone's house to play whatever fighting game everyone wants to play at any junction of the overall day. Try and have cash to throw down on beer obviously. Nessa has volunteered to make homemade pizzas for all involved as long as people buy the beer. Personality is a REQUIREMENT... No one likes playing against people who just aren't fun to have around--even if you suck, you can still have a good time just through conversation.

Anyway, Nessa and I are volunteering our place.

Now, it's a known fact that I only play fighters via arcade stick. I have my own, so that's a non-issue--but, it'd probably be a good idea for people to try and bring their own controllers/arcade sticks if at all possible. I know AT has his own stick (no homo), but I'm not sure about the rest of you. If you don't have one, but want one, hit me up and I'll lead you in the proper direction for your needs/budget. If my turn pops up in rotation and my stick (no homo) is the only one in the building, then I'll be using it. You've been warned.

Anyway, I'm down to host ANY fighter people want to play. The only one I'm scary good at is Tekken (I'm dangerous with scorpion on MK, but I barely play it). I have SSF4: AE, MvC3 (can get ultimate if requested), SC5, VF5 (will get Final Showdown when it comes out), and DOA4 (even though it's trash). I also have a ton of emulators on the regular xbox including pretty much every capcom fighting game, ki 1 & 2, and countless other classics. Obviously, if people want to play something else that I don't already have they're more than welcome to bring it.

Just post here if you're down, and what games you'd like to see hosted for it.

I'll be down. But i'm not very good at fighters except Super Smash Bros, I have a Gamecube and SSB Melee and 2 controllers (I could probably get four) if anyone wants to play something less super-serious.

And I know you're focusing on fighting games, but I am a DDR head, and I have Stepmania (A freeware PC DDR clone) on my laptop with over 5k songs, including all official DDR songs. But no pads though Sad

Also, I heard theres no party like a Mario Party....

Edit: Somebody get mai Marvel Vs Capcom!

I have Marvel Vs Capcom 3 already... I can swoop up ultimate MvC3 if people want me to--but frankly speaking, it wasn't really that much of a difference. Pretty much every character can still kill you outright in a single touch of death combo. Only difference is you trade out one group that's utterly retarded for a different group that's even more retarded to face.

Anyway, I'd like to go with fighting games because the matches are quick (2 out of 3 sets at ft3 rounds takes a few minutes), making it quick to move around the room. Also, it's when people turn straight up mortons about a loss that things become hilarious. Back when I was out in Como we made soooooo many people get up and walk out of my house for the way they got embarrassed.

While I'm not a SF fan (mainly due to the pacing, some matches are a straight up snore-fest when played out properly), I do have SSF4: Arcade Edition (which I listed on the games list). So yeah...

Seriously though, if I get stuck sitting through an E Honda vs Balrog match-up, someone is getting bitch slapped. That fight is literally a patience test of who can hold d/b the longest--whoever moves first gets hit pretty much guaranteed.

You already KNOW I'm down. I have Tekken 6, MVC3, SC4, SSF4:AE, Tekken Tag Tournament (Original), MK1, 2, 3, and a modded xbox with pretty much everything else. We could do it at my place some time, but I'd have to rework the basement to make this thing work which isn't a problem. I'm medium at all these games except Soul Calibur so this should be fun.

I never doubted that one for a second. I already knew you'd be down before I even made this thread.

Same with you, considering you're pretty much the only other head on this site that's even played fighters with me.

So lets start looking at a possible day for the first one... Preferably a weekend so all my 9 to 5 cats can make it out.

Didn't know they released SC1 on the regular xbox, or are you talking about your 360?

Nope... I was right, SC1 only came out on the arcade and then the Dreamcast (and later XBLA for the 360). It was soul calibur 2 which came out on the regular xbox (as well as GC and PS2), then SC3 was only on PS2.

Not too shabby... The combo system is fucking ridiculous though. People who thought juggles in tekken were insane are likely to be pissed off and break their discs pretty quickly.

King is fucking GODLIKE on here though... 4 hop-knees into running power bomb is not only doable, but a fucking staple for HUGE damage without meter usage. With 3 meters king and law teamed up can keep you in the air for a LONG ass time.

I wish we could do it sooner, but Nessa's just not quite up to it yet as she's been deathly ill. We're hoping she'll be okay by next weekend.
